Thank you to those who participated in the online survey for the new playground. We had 55 responses with lots of great feedback to help the playground committee and HOA Board get a better sense of what residents would like to see in the new playground.
The following is a general summary of the comments submitted:
- We need to make sure there are more things for older children. Older children like to climb.
- Maintain or increase number of swings (was not included in one of the proposal’s photos)
- Consider including a canopy or some partial coverage
- The fire truck has sentimental value with multiple residents
- Lighter color and UV resistant material
- Spinning equipment is popular
The next step will be to take this feedback and set some minimum requirements for the playground vendors to come back with proposals. The board is hoping to get three competitive bids for consideration. The previous two proposals gave us a general idea of what we can expect, but this second round of requests for a proposal should be more specific thanks to everyone’s feedback.
If you have any feedback or concerns, please send an e-mail to playground@davisspring.org and board@davisspring.org.
